RECALL
We are announcing a recall of 5 gallon gas cans that shipped from our facility in Jefferson City MO August 10 through October 5. A small percentage of these cans may not have been milled correctly in a secondary operation that shaves excess plastic off the top of the cans neck. The result is a surface that may not seal properly at the junction of the neck to nozzle assembly and it may will leak. This will be obvious at first use.

To date we know of only a few problem cans. However with an abundance of caution, we have decided to proceed with a Fast Track Product Recall Program as prescribed by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). I have spoken with Mr. Dean Woodard of the CPSC. Mr. Woodard is the Department Head of Section 15 that deals with product recalls and stepped me through the process. We are committed to working with the CPSC and following their guidelines and advice through this event.

DATE CODES
Our investigation is not yet complete. At this time this recall affects only our 5 gallon gas containers manufactured with the Julian date codes AIP09202 through AIP09222. (July 21-Aug 10) If the containers do not have this date code string on the bottom of the can they are not part of this recall. There were 7,488 five gallon cans manufactured during the production run that may be affected. We anticipate only a small percentage of these cans may potentially be affected.

WHAT CONSUMERS SHOULD DO
The cans affect may leak upon first use. It will be obvious. (Of course if any of our cans ever leak they may be replaced under our three year warranty.)

If a consumer has a recently purchased No Spill 5 gallon gas can and it leaks, we need to be notified in either of two ways:

Recall email info@nospill.com
Recall hotline 877 928 0049 8:30-4:30 central time

If a consumer finds they have a No Spill 5 gallon gas can within the date codes and it doesnt leak (as it probably wont), they are welcome to continue to use it or they may contact our office for a replacement can through the recall hot line or recall email.

WHEN WE ARE CONTACTED
We will ask you for proof of destruction of the faulty can and send you a new one. (Keep the nozzle assembly) An email photo would work best. If you do not have access to the internet or email, give us a call for instructions for replacement at our expense. Details will be on the www.NoSpill.com website within a few days. Our objective is to destroy all affected cans, replace them with unaffected product and restore confidence in our brand.

GOING FORWARD
With all replacement cans going to consumers at no charge we will include a nozzle extension. This extension allows our No Spill cans to refuel cars and other hard to reach filler necks. It has a suggested retail price of $3.95.

We will do all we can to handle this unfortunate situation correctly and restore your confidence in our product.
